We found Niagara on the Lake a number of years ago when we were researching wine vineyards not too far from home.   It happens to be one of our favorite places to visit when we are looking for a quick getaway.  Niagara on the Lake is in Ontario not far from Niagara Falls.   The town is very beautiful.  With lovely boutique shops, beautiful flowers and the amazing countryside filled with vineyards.  We love the beautiful bed and breakfasts, boutique hotels and country inns.  Restaurants offer incredible food from pub fare to upscale casual food and fine dining.

There are many wonderful wineries.   I love the ice-wines that some of the vineyards offer.  Added to Champagne takes it to a whole other level.  There is even an ice wine festival for three weekends in January.

There are over 25 vineyards around Niagara on the Lake.  Some of the wineries even offer “white effect dinners” which is wonderful fun and worth going to.  There are craft breweries, cider and spirits.  The Niagara on the Lake Shaw Festival runs from April 9 to December 21 and offers 12 plays on 4 stages.   Niagara on the Lake has so much to offer.  It is worth a visit.  You will find happiness as you stand in the middle of this beautiful town.
